In Response To: MM shirted triples advice (Jim Ray)

I hate the concept of using lower and lower boards to touch in the shirt. It adds a false sense of security in touching. I start my training cycle about 12 weeks out and I work triples for 3 weeks and then take a deload, 3 weeks of doubles and then deload, and 3 weeks of singles and deload the week before the contest. When I start my triples it is usually 150-200 pounds lighter than my max. Your first weight on triples should be relatively light.

I like to touch light weights. I hate not touching. I have never not touched in a contest. I touched 635 in the same shirt I benched 800 in.

This is the same training techinque I will use shortly as I get back into the gear. I can't wait.
