Grandma and Equipment

This post is for ED COAN. Eddie I had to post this in support of you.

My Grandma started lifting weights 3 months ago. She started benching 25 pounds using a EZ Curlbar. She recently has moved to a 45 pound straight bar for triples.

She called me the other day and said she had convinced three of her friends to come to her home and start lifting weights and benching with her. I was amazed. She is 84 years old.

Well she has decided after 3 months that she wanted to bench more. I told her to take it easy and be careful. Well, she called me yesterday and said she had benched 85 pounds for 1 rep. I was mad at her for attemting this weight. We fought a bit and she finally told me she wore some protective equipment.

I ask her where she got "this protective equipment" and she said her powerlifting neighbor designed a benchpress shirt for her. He also decided that since she had a seudo gym and a few members that supported her that she should form the Masters Masters Female Federation. MMFF if you will. Well according to the new MMFF federation, my grandma holds a world record on benchpress, with a shirt of course.

I laughed. She said hey "I got a gym, a group that lifts as I do, and this shirt that makes my weak-old-ass 50 pound bench press into a 85 pound press. So go to hell!!!"

I laughed again and made me think of modern day POWERLIFTING....

Maybe she will stay away from the juice....

George
