In Response To: Re: We found it - IPA Pro Am meet (ken wheeler)

very lame way to give pats on the back. There is nothing to be "read into" your remarks. They were blatantly comparative.

________

Your right ..blatantly comparative. I posted the rules as they appeared on the respective websites.

_________

If your intent was to say how great the meet was, why put any reference to any other fed or depth rule. They were put there to try to make a suttle(less) point.

__________

Once again .. I found the meet to be exciting and well run. How many ways can I put that? Why would you or anyone else have a problem posting squat depth rules of each fed? It simply pointed out the difference before someone else would of posted it. Now you wish to make an issue out of nothing.

___________

I have 32 going on 33 years in this sport etc etc

____________

I would suggest we (folks with that many years around the sport) work to bridge the gaps not create them.

____________

The squats at this meet were on the money good in any fed if they were passed. NOT IPA good, but good as in break parallel good which is all you need to obey the stinking rule.

_____________

That statement is a falsehood. However, I did see some the went below what the IPA squat depth requires.

______________

Your intentions may have been one thing but your words betray you.

______________

I assure you my intentions were good. My words in the post drive home the suttle point (as you put it) that there is nothing wrong with a lifter cross training and competing in a high caliber quality competition.

In fact, take away any equipment issue and have the set "Rules of Performance" and the lifters would adhere to the rules that apply.

Many lifters have indeed done that competing in single ply events and multiply events. Then again ..you knew that with your years of experience as well as I do.
