The IPF is constantly meeting with IOC officials both at home and abroad. There is an IOC meeting and vote this fall to consider giving powerlifting full IOC status. The IPF is an Olympic partner at the moment. During the same meeting a vote will be taken to remove baseball and softball. The pricipal reason behind the move is baseball's refusal to acknowledge the problem of performance enhancing drugs. Softball is viewed as baseball lite and is lumped into the mix. There are other sports that will be removed at this meeting. A positive vote for the IPF does not mean that powerlifting will ever be in the Olympics. We may have to be content with the IOC affiliated World Games.
