Steve Denison of the USPF reports on Larry Kidneys Birthday in the USPF California Forum :
Larry Kidney, Powerlifting Icon from the 70's and 80's and 2004 CA Hall of Fame member, celebrated his 69th birthday on Saturday with several friends at his Chino, CA home. Larry is a true gentleman and hardcore powerlifter with many great stories. Long time friends came to celebrate with Larry and his wife. In attendance were Danny Bullard, Randy Raney, Chet Thomas, Dominic Licavoli, Bill Cavalier, John Mutz, Jim Merlino, Louie Hernandez, and myself. We had a great time talking about Larry and Powerlifting. We sat in Larry's living room and watched an old squat training video from Sept 1986 with Larry squatting over 900 at age 47 lifting in the 275 class. Lots of energy in that video from The Pit Gym in Pomona, CA. I told Larry and his wife we'll have to get that video on DVD and posted on You Tube for others to enjoy. Classic stuff.
