Hello Martin, To compete again after 22 years of work, effort and self-discipline, plus sacrifice, is something that you have to go through to understand why stepping down from competition, is often necessary. Life changes, and some things that help propel you to reach for great heights are no longer there. I had a terrific support group in my family,and as they passed away,my priorities changed. I had already reached far beyond what I ever expected to achieve and among the best of that day, so my desire to reach again was and is no longer there. I still train faithfully, but competition is not something I am planning on returning to.My present goal is to be as strong and fit as I can be, at whatever age I happen to be. David Shaw
