I gotta call you on that one. It was the Republicans who made Kerry out to be a nancy-boy because he had a rich wife. They also created the libelous swift boat thing that was entirely, 100% a bunch of lies. The Dems tried to take the high road and say nothing, but eventually had to "prove" the legitimacy of Kerry's heroic VietNam service, while he ran against a couple of draft-dodgers. By then it was too late; he was already labeled a wimp.

Now the R's have a guy running who has an even richer wife, who did absolutely nothing to earn her wealth. McCain really and truly did not know which homes he owns, which his wife owns, or which his wife's trusts own. When this comes to light, The Republicans have the balls to cry foul. That's the height of hipocracy. Unfortunately it's not surprising; they've gotten very good at asserting that they are always on the right side of everything, even when they switch sides.
