is for discrete types of data where the proportion rate is relatively small in relation to a binomial distirbution. (usually =5 the binomial distribution will approach the normal distribution and this similiarity is used in many types of hypothesis testing such as Chi square analysis.

for continuous nonnormal distributions nonparametric hypothesis testing was invented such as Kruskal-Wallis, Moods Median, Mann whitney
