You cant compare the championships Ricky won to the championships today, or even the the ones of recent years. Back when he won his, everybody knew who the few national, and world champions was. There was elite lifters back then, that couldnt even win a state, or regional meet. It was back when powerlifting was competitive, all the national and world champions was awesome in his era. Today, and even the last 20 years, championships, most anyway, have been a joke, compared, to the 60's, 70's and 80's . Today over half of the lifters calling theirselfs national champs, are class 2 lifters .
