Yea it is a shame that lifters get by with high squats, and loose judging. A lot of the lifters that lift there themselfs dont like it, even some of the top guys, but go there to keep up with the top 100 list. As long as powerlifting magazine allows these high squats to be on the top 100 list from the loose feds, then you cant blame a top lifter from going there. The old saying is'if you cant beat them join them' That is so true in todays world of powerlifting.
It's pathetic that the generation who created the phrase "just say no" is the same generation who when put to the test can't "just say no".
The solution is simple. Deep within they know that they are being a fraud lifting in the mile high federations and claiming easy pickings. If enough new generation lifters actually grew some balls and said no to the southern backyard circus club the ratings would be more realistic.
It's at the point that groups of spectators and lifters alike are sharing mass hullucinations and believing that what they see is historical lifting.
I love listening to some of those who lift in the circus when they show up to a real meet. Some of these idiots actually argue with the referee's and tell them they don't know the rules. The reality is, they started off lifting in the circus federations and learned the sport (or distortion of) there.
They have no clue.
