Sometimes rest (disuse) is the best medicine. Your post title indicates a possible belief that nutrition plays a role in recovery. Other allegedly authoritative posts to the contrary, I suggest you not be quick to abandon the concept. MANY scientific studies have been conducted on "natural substances" indicating efficacy for many conditions. Don't let medical greed stop you from research. I expect to be howled down for what I just said! It's par here. The fact that I get it from a limited number of others suggests the rest of the board is still open minded! Do not relinquish the prerogative of thinking for yourself. Some highly researched anti-inflammatory substances are available WITHOUT a prescription include celery seed and fish oil. I have used niacin for joint relief. (Don't stay on megadoses and always take with food.) Perhaps due to circulation in joints being poor, and the fact that niacin is a great circulatory boost, it could help. Garlic contains sulphur, known to soothe joints. As for doctors and drugs, BEWARE of all NSAIDs! These can damage vital organs! Then they would refer you to another "specialist" for "treatment." You could find a doctor who would agree to administer an HGH injection in affected area, or substance like hyaluronic acid. These would be very much safer.
By the way---concerning snake oil---it is the medicos who use a snake in their symbology. How many deaths are attributable to pharmaceuticals vs "natural substances?" No need to believe anything I say. Just look up the STATS!!!!!!!!
My policy is to make one post only on "controversial" topics per each thread, so know this, I see no additional need to defend what I stated. Let the fellow who started this thread reach his own, uncoerced conclusions! Please remember this is America, where dissent is allowed.
