In Response To: Popularity - How it's done. . . . how what's done? (Steven Zeigman)

Scanning through the postings on "powerliftingwatch.com" will reveal the range and extent of "powerlifting" meets and activities. . . All kinds of different meet promotions, different types of events. . . . . Something for everyone. . . .

The "diversity" of what-all goes on is sure to attract a larger audience than a narrower focus. . . .

So, yes, it might be a "hyped-up" website to someone wishing to preserve "dignity," but that is not really my point. . . My point is that if any [fill-in-the-blank] activity is to enjoy growth and success, then maybe Oly lifters should start thinking "out of the box," look around at other activities, and see what works. . . .

As one example, a powerlifting Federation is having a combination meet and barbeque in East Texas. . . .

So, looking past all of the "hype," maybe there are some good examples, maybe new ideas, maybe new learning experiences to be had. . . .

And it is hard to argue with the success of powerlifting. . . good, bad, ugly, undignified, whatever. . . .

But that is just me . . . . :-)

Ride safe,
Jim
