I have to disagree with you. Board presses, as heavy as you can do them, are very productive. Basically, you get to work the groove with a very tight shirt, with a minimum of wear and tear. In addition, you gain back and tricep strength with the overload. If the weight gets ridiculous, you can tailor it with the number of boards used. Granted, the board weight will be far greater than a full rep.
